The Sensory-Motor Coupling Wall

The Sensory-Motor Coupling Wall

Three experiments returned null (5, 6, 9). All hit the same limitation: ρsync0\rho_{\text{sync}} \approx 0. The FFT convolution kernel integrates over the full grid — patterns are inherently internally driven. V15 motor channels, V17 signaling, V18 boundary gating all failed to break it. The wall is about agency: action-observation causal loops, not signal routing.

The architectural space has been exhausted. Breaking the wall requires a fundamentally different substrate.

Two walls, two breaks. The ρ\rho wall (sensory-motor coupling) falls to V20's protocell agency (ρsync=0.21\rho_{\text{sync}} = 0.21). The decomposability wall falls to V27's MLP head (Φ=0.245\intinfo = 0.245). Both are architectural — neither can be overcome by more training, better targets, or richer environments.
